Good News

A bit of news not related to art, but it makes us happy nonetheless.

Happy (belated) Human Rights Day!

Thank you to Melissa Moffett from IDEA High School for sending these photos from the first South Side Animation Club! It was great seeing students from the SAMI/SOTA/IDEA schools hanging out together and having fun with animation mashup prompts.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the first ever South Side Animation Club! I can’t wait to do it all again on the 4th Saturday (April 22) from 10 a.m.-12 pm. next month! Check the Tacoma Public Library Events Calendar for details. We do have a few more kits left, so if you didn’t get one yet, show up early to the next meeting. A big thanks to the Tacoma Public Library Moore Branch for partnering on this program and the City of Tacoma Arts Commission for support. The No, Mine! Studios Interns Jillian and Sterling and the Moore Library Staff (Tony, Kalie, Gabby, and more!) helped ensure this meeting was a success! [Thank you, Eli, for last minute tech support!] Thank you also to my kiddo, Izzy, for helping to put the finishing touches on art kits. And a special thank you to my coparent, Tim Kapler, for tech support, taking photos, research, and other help! #art #community #fun #TacomaArt #TacomaArtists #TacomaEvents #animation #AnimationClub #SouthSideAnimationClub #MakeStuff #MakeArt #MakeFriends
Thanks to the efforts of Next Move/ No, Mine! Studio Interns Jillian Schmitt and Sterling Kelly, packing 40 animation kits for the South Side Animation Club was done in less than an hour today! These kits will be available for free on a first come, first served basis at the first club meeting: Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Tacoma Public Library Moore Branch. The South Side Animation Club is all-ages, free, and meets once a month. Check the Tacoma Public Library Events Calendar or nominestudios.com for details. This Community Arts Project project wouldn’t be possible without support from the City of Tacoma Arts Commission and the Tacoma Public Library. #community #art #animation #TacomaEvents #TacomaArt #SouthSideAnimationClub
